AACWP “My Favorite Vendor Awards”

Hello everyone!

As many of you may recall from our Facebook page, Robert Carr Chapel was nominated (for the second consecutive year!) for “Best Ceremony Site” by the American Association of Certified Wedding Planners 6th annual “My Favorite Vendors Awards.” While we lost to the stunning SMU Perkins Chapel, we were honored to have been considered among the best ceremony venues that DFW has to offer.

Incidentally, we also had a fabulous time at the dinner getting to know others in the DFW wedding industry while exploring the phenomenal Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas! A special thanks goes out to Tami Winn and Jamie Lemke of Tami Winn Events and Le Fleur Couture for keeping dinner interesting and congratulations to our friends from Fort Worth and “Best Reception Site” nominee, The Ashton Depot. Here are just a few pictures from the event:

Looking forward to the 7th Annual My Favorite Vendor Awards! Who knows…? With your help and continued encouragement, maybe we’ll take home the prize :)

Congratulations Rachel and Conner!

Hey guys!

It’s been a while but I am so excited to share with you images from a recent and beautiful Sunday wedding at Robert Carr! I grew up a military brat so I have a particular soft spot for a man in uniform and this groom, Conner, doesn’t dissapoint. Rachel looked stunning in a dreamy lace dress and Badgely Mischka shoes, while her ladies looked almost as gorgeous in long, one-shoulder blush dresses and lavender bouquets. I don’t think I have to tell y’all how good everything smelled! Their ceremony was perfectly intimate with both of Rachel’s parents giving her away and a special moment of prayer over the couple by their families. Grab your tissue folks, this one was a tear jerker. Don’t believe me? Check it out for yourself, their very talented photography team, Jeremy and Krisitin Photography , were gracious enough to allow me to post photos from this special couple’s “first look” and ceremony.

Congratulations again to the very happy couple. We’re honored you chose Robert Carr to celebrate the start of your lives together.

Congratulations Lindsay and Erik!

September 29th, 2012 was not the best day to be outside in the TCU area. Fortunately for us, it was an absolutely glorious day to be inside and witnessing Lindsay and Erik become Husband and Wife. First of all, Lindsay may be the sweetest person I have ever had the pleasure of meeting and helping guide her through one of the biggest days of her life was an honor. I really mean that. She put so much joy and sincerity and love into all of the details that made their simple, elegant wedding perfect for her and her fiance, Erik, who has to be one of the luckiest men on the planet. I especially love the photos (provided by the talented Jenna Liston of Jenna Liston Photography, check out her facebook here!) that capture the little things, like the memory of her grandmother incorporated in her bouquet in a locket-style picture. Which reminds me of a certain blog post all about flowers…!

Well, without any further ado… I’m so excited to share with you some of my favorite images that captured the essence of their big day. Enjoy!

Lindsay wanted me to share this with you all: “Erik and I fell in love with the chapel right away when we first visited, and were so happy that we could celebrate our wedding there! It was perfect and beautiful (despite the rain!)”

Lindsay and Erik, I can’t think of a happier couple to be around. Your joy is infections, your love is sincere. I wish you all of the happiness in the world! You both deserve it. Congratulations!

Congratulations Sabrina and Ben!

On a beatiful summer evening Sabrina Spiva and Ben Hermann became man and wife here at Robert Carr Chapel. Their wedding was a true Horned Frog celebration from her purple shoes to the gorgeous purple flowers and bridesmaids dresses to the celebratory photo IN Frog Fountain. A big thanks to Caroline Joy Photography for these images (and many more!) check it out!

Sabrina shared with me how she and Ben met… so sweet!

“Ben and I met while he was attending TCU for his Master’s and I was finishing my undergrad. Our first conversations centered around college football, which was a love for both of us. The week of our first date we went to ESPN GameDay and to the TCU v. Utah game that night – we cheered our hearts out on the front row of the student section! Just a few weeks later we road-tripped together to Glendale, Arizona to watch the Frogs in their first BCS bowl appearance. Since then, we’ve traveled the country attending TCU football and baseball games. Ben proposed the day he received his Master’s degree, and soon after we moved to Oklahoma City. Even though we were no longer living in Fort Worth, with all the purple running through our lives, we knew we didn’t want to get married anywhere but Robert Carr Chapel. Thanks to all the staff for their help – everything was wonderful. GO FROGS!”

With all of that said, enjoy your lives together Mr. and Mrs. Hermann!

Congratulations Melanie Jane and Dave!

In my first few weeks as the new intern for the Robert Carr Chapel, I had the pleasure of working with this lovely couple and witnessed their absolutely stunning ceremony on a beautiful late spring day. Melanie Jane and David shared their love for one another in front of family and friends before heading off to their reception at The Fort Worth Club. Many thanks to Tracy Autem Photography for images captured and Tami Winn for the gorgeous flowers on that special day!

New photos!

Dear friends,

When I assumed the position of Chapel and Events Coordinator for Robert Carr Chapel about a year ago, I found several prints like this in my office:

Vintage Robert Carr

No doubt that this is a beautiful bride.  Also, no doubt that there are shoulder pads in this picture.  So when Fort Worth photographer Kari Crowe offered to share some new photos with me, I was stoked.  Just this past week, she dropped of 4 framed, beautiful, modern prints of weddings at Robert Carr.  You’ll have to come check them out.  In the meantime, take a look at Kari Crowe Photography; you won’t be disappointed.

Happy 4th of July Weekend!
